The low budget science fiction film Doors unfortunately fails to deliver. The premise of the film is that mysterious portals start appearing. People are disappearing through them, seemingly lured by the doors themselves.
The film is hurt by the fact that it’s actually an anthology of 4 short films. The first three stories are glued together by masses of exposition from one of the characters in the last story. The consistency of tone in the stories is good, but there is no continuation of characters or themes between them.
The first story is quite good, though a bit of a breakfast club knock off. The second is downright weird, and it’s premise, that random people would be sent in to explore what’s behind the doors, is weak. The third story is solid, but predictable. The concluding story is the worst of the lot, and the ending is unsatisfying.
I can’t recommend this film even to science fiction fans.
