Review of “Major Grom: Plague Doctor”

* * C

This Netflix film, dubbed from Russian, is based on a Russian comic book. It follows a renegade overachieving Saint Petersburg police man, his rookie partner, and a plucky reporter as they battle the mysterious Plague Doctor, a criminal who kills those who take advantage of the poor. Grom must also avoid interference of federal investigators from Moscow.

The acting and voice acting are solid. While I found the plot very predictable, the twist was good. This film was fun, reminding me of a B cop movie from the eighties.
