Review: “Spenser Confidential”

* * C

Mark “Marky” Wahlberg stars as a wrongly convicted policeman who, upon being released from prison, takes up the case that got him put away, helped by his mentor (Alan Arkin) and roommate (Winston “M’Baku” Duke). This Netflix film is one of their better efforts. It’s fun, action packed, and Arkin gives a great performance. As a run of the mill “redemption of a man falsely convicted” story, it doesn’t contain a lot of surprises. As long as you aren’t expecting a fresh take, you’ll probably like it.
