Steve Jobs’s 10 Rules for Success

Evan Charmichael has another interesting video compilation: Steve Jobs’s Top 10 Rules For Success. Here’s my summary:

1. Improve Your Life

Don’t accept life as it is. Everything around you was invented by people. Don’t live a limited life.

2. Do what you love

You need passion to persist.

3. Design for yourself

Start with what you like.

4. Focus on what you do best

Don’t sell crap.

5. Hire great people

Great people are self motivated. You just need to lead them with vision.

6. Company, People, and Products Are What’s Important

Don’t do it for the money. Money merely enables you to do things worth doing.

7. Make Products You’re Proud Of

Don’t sell stripped down products.

8. Start With The Customer

Don’t start from technology.

9. Market Your Values

E.g. Apple: “Think Different”

10. Keep Looking, Don’t Settle

Follow your curiosity and interest. Believe the dots will connect in the future. Is what I am going to do today what I want I’d want to do on my last day? Don’t waste your life. Follow your heart and intuition.
