Jesus Changes His Mind

“Those who cannot change their wallsminds cannot change anything”
― George Bernard Shaw

When a Canaanite woman begged Jesus to cure her daughter, he at first refused to answer her. When his disciples begged him to send her away because she kept following them, asking for their help, Jesus finally spoke to her:

“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. It is not right to take the children’s bread and to cast it to dogs.”

“True, Lord” she replied, “yet the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

“Woman,” said Jesus, “your faith is great. What you wish will be given to you.”

Her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

The interesting point here is that Jesus changed his mind about his mission, making an exception and helping her despite the fact that the Torah said that she should be killed, along with the entirety of the seven Canaanite nations of the land of Israel.
