Mounting the WDTV Live Hub from Linux

To mount the drive on my WDTV Live Hub on my Linux box:

  1. Ran: sudo apt-get install cifs-utils
  2. Ran: sudo mkdir /mnt/wdtvlivehub
  3. Looked up the IP address on the hub’s network configuration screen
  4. Ran: sudo mount -t cifs //192.168.0.113/wdtvlivehub /mnt/wdtvlivehub -o guest
    (where 192.168.0.113 was the IP address looked up in step 3)

Voila. Running ‘ls /mnt/wdtvlivehub’ gives:

Music  Photos  TwonkyMediaServer-log.txt  Video
